English Essay Writing Competition - Prize Presentation

Initiated by the Human Resource and Customer Service Permanent Sub-Committee of the Sarawak Water Supply Consultative Committee (SWSCC), an English essay writing competition was organized by all the water authorities in Sarawak in their respective areas. The competition was divided into 3 categories: (1) Secondary School and (2) Primary School which was coordinated by the Education Department and (3) Public via Press Release.

The purpose of the competition was to create awareness on the importance of water and its conservation among all users of water.

LAKU Management Sdn Bhd conducted the competition opened to the 3 categories in Miri, Bintulu and Limbang from 14 February 2008 to 31 March 2008 (for public category). The closing date for the Primary/Secondary School category was extended to 18 April 2008.

The number of submissions received from Miri and Bintulu are :-

Primary school category - 73
Secondary school category - 71
Public category - 1
